Job Description

OOJ Homecare Services is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our care team in Leeds.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting service users to maintain their dignity, independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

You will also provide guidance and support to other care team members and work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure that each service user's individual care needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care and support to service users.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, nutrition, and daily living activities.
  • Follow and implement individual care and support plans.
  • Monitor service users’ wellbeing and report any changes promptly.
  • Support medication procedures in accordance with care plans and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care records.
  • Promote dignity, independence, privacy, and choice.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with service users and their families.
  • Provide guidance and support to Care Assistants and other members of the care team.
  • Assist with the induction and mentoring of new care staff where required.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, healthcare professionals, families, and other members of the support team.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and supportive care environment.
  • Follow OOJ Homecare’s policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a care or health and social care environment.
  • Experience in a senior care role is desirable.
  • A compassionate, respectful, and person-centred approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, support, and motivate other care team members.
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
  • Willingness to undertake required training and professional development.
