Job Description

OOJ Homecare Services is looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Weekend Care Assistants to join our care team in Leeds.

As a Weekend Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to service users during weekends. You will help individuals maintain their dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life while supporting their personal and daily living needs.

This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible weekend work while making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support during weekend shifts.
• Assist service users with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Support daily living activities and individual routines.
• Assist with meal preparation and nutrition where required.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Follow individual care and support plans.
• Monitor service users’ wellbeing and report any concerns or changes.
• Support medication procedures in accordance with care plans and company policies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential care records.
• Promote dignity, independence, privacy, and choice.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide appropriate handovers.
• Follow OOJ Homecare’s safeguarding, health and safety, and care procedures.

Requirements

• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential for suitable applicants.
• A caring, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and committed to working weekend shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
• Good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Willingness to complete required training and professional development.
• Applicants must have the appropriate right to work in the UK.
